Cumberland County Schools sign that reads, Collaborate-Compete-SucceedCCS’ Next Superintendent: Tell Us What You Think!
 
The Cumberland County Board of Education has hired the North Carolina School Boards Association (NCSBA) to help facilitate its search for the next superintendent of the Cumberland County Schools (CCS). The Board wants direct input from members of the community to help shape the search process and to assist in defining the qualities and characteristics desired in the next CCS’ superintendent.

Cumberland County Schools’ English as a Second Language (ESL) Department has partnered with Fayetteville Technical Community College to offer FREE ESL Civics and Citizenship Application Preparation Classes. Parents can learn to speak English while their child is in school. There is open enrollment throughout the school year. graphic of happy students with shield icon. educational symbolOn Friday, September 22, 2017, Westarea Elementary will have its first College Apparel Day.  Students are encouraged to wear shirts with college logos instead of their uniform shirts.  Staff members will also wear college apparel in order to encourage students to work toward attending  the college or university of their choice.  Westarea Elementary will hold a monthly College Apparel Day on the fourth Friday of the month for the rest of the school year.
